Fostering Students’ Workplace Communicative Competence and Collaborative Mindset through an Inquiry-Based Learning Design

This paper illustrates the efficiency of implementing an inquiry-based teaching and learning module on development workplace communication competence collaborative mindset in a college-level English as Foreign Language context. In particular, study highlights 5E constructivist approach pedagogical foundation addresses effects project-based scenario students’ engagement their views terms “workplace habits mind”. The model includes five stages: engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, evaluation. addition, strategies like academia-industry cooperative teaching, industry field trip, reflective writing, presentation were incorporated into each instructional phase to emphasize social, collaborative, problem-solving skills. Both quantitative qualitative data collected including perceived effectiveness activities, weekly journal writing focus group interviews. results indicate that had favorable effect hands-on, mind-on skills such critical thinking, collaboration, communication.
